Solomon Waigwa Kiboi, a dedicated and accomplished professional born in 1980, is a Kenyan national residing in Ol-Joro-Orok. He is a married man with a strong Christian faith, fluent in multiple languages including English, Kiswahili, Kikuyu, and possesses basic proficiency in German (A1 level). Solomon is committed to his professional development and is currently pursuing a Master of Technology in Mechanical Engineering at the Technical University of Kenya, with an expected graduation date in December 2024. His educational journey also includes a Bachelor of Industrial Technology with a specialization in Manufacturing from Egerton University, as well as several diplomas in Mechanical Engineering and Technical Education from Kenya Technical Teachers College.

Solomon’s career objective is to secure a challenging management, administrative, or technical position that aligns with his skills, experience, and background. He aims to contribute to the growth and success of a reputable organization while simultaneously advancing his own professional development. His extensive educational background has equipped him with a solid foundation in technical and administrative skills, making him a valuable asset in any organization.

In terms of professional experience, Solomon has held various roles in the field of education and technical training. Since September 2018, he has been serving as a sessional assistant lecturer in the Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering Department at the Technical University of Kenya (TUK). In this role, he is responsible for delivering lectures, guiding students in practical sessions, and contributing to the academic development of future engineers. Additionally, since January 2017, he has been the Principal Technical and Vocational Trainer in Mechanical Engineering at the Kenya School of TVET, formerly known as KTTC. In this capacity, he oversees the training programs, ensuring that students receive high-quality education and practical skills necessary for their careers.

Prior to these roles, Solomon gained valuable experience as an instructor in welding and fabrication with the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) at their Kakuma Field Office from August to December 2015, and at the Dadaab Field Office from February 2013 to December 2014. His teaching experience also includes a position at Nyandarua Institute of Science and Technology (NIST), where he taught in the Department of Automotive Engineering from October 2010 to September 2012. Furthermore, he completed his teaching practice at Rift Valley Institute of Science and Technology (RVIST) in 2009, where he contributed to the Department of Mechanical and Agricultural Engineering.

Solomon’s commitment to professional development is evident through his participation in various short courses and training programs. He recently completed an Advanced Welding (MIG/MMAW) manual and VR-Technology course to European Standards, earning a Welder’s Qualification Test Certificate (ISO 9606-1 135-D PFW FM) in June 2023. He has also undergone advanced security training with the United Nations Department of Security and Safety (UNDSS) and participated in safety field travel training with the Register of Engineers in Disaster Relief (Redr UK). Additionally, he completed a driving course with the Automobile Association of Kenya (AA) in October 2010 and has engaged in ICT entrepreneurship training.

Solomon is an active member of several professional bodies, including the Institution of Engineering Technologist and Technicians of Kenya (IET), where he holds Membership No. 4631. He is also a Registered Graduate Technologist with the Kenya Engineering Technology Registration Board (KETRB) and is registered to teach by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) in Kenya. Furthermore, he is an individual member of the Computer Society of Kenya (CSK), with Membership No. 110191.

Outside of his professional pursuits, Solomon enjoys engaging in hobbies such as playing football and mountaineering, which reflect his passion for teamwork, physical fitness, and personal growth. He is eager to bring his expertise, dedication, and enthusiasm to a dynamic organization that values innovation and excellence.
