Jarrus C. Mitchell is a distinguished engineer and leader in the field of non-destructive testing (NDT), with a robust record of achievements spanning various sectors, including aerospace, nuclear, and construction. Overseeing teams in various countries including the US, Europe, Asia, and Mexico. He has directed NDT engineers and inspectors, developing innovative techniques to improve collaboration and efficiency in NDT processes. He also provides coaching and mentorship to enhance global engineering skills in this field. Jarrus holds various certifications in welding and NDT testing and has educated at Norfolk State University in civil engineering. His exceptional management skills are evidenced through his role at Schaeffler Aerospace, where he has served as an NDT Level III since February 2021. In this capacity, he leads a diverse team of inspectors and engineers, innovatively developing procedures while overseeing critical NADCAP audits and enhancing vendor relations across North America.
Prior to joining Schaeffler Aerospace, Jarrus held significant positions at Orano TN from 2017 to 2020, where he managed both domestic and international NDT projects. He expertly evaluated supplier results based on ASME standards and spearheaded advanced testing programs designed for high radiation environments. His leadership contributed directly to the development of improved efficiency within the Eddy Current Inspection system.
His earlier career at Fomas Inc. from 2013 to 2016 further underlined his expertise, as he led NDT operations, trained staff, and conducted internal audits to align with international compliance standards. In 2012, he served as a Senior Welding Auditor at S&ME Inc., performing detailed inspections and tests across various sectors.
Jarrus is also a committed educator and community leader. He founded the STEM U Foundation to uplift underserved communities through education and workforce development initiatives. His establishment of the NDE Institute reflects his dedication to training the next generation of NDT professionals.
