According to the African Development Bank, Africa needs for infrastructure investment is between $130 billion and $170 billion USD per year. The actual investment level is between $68 billion and $108 billion USD per year short of that need.[1]
About 57 percent of rural roads are not all-season roads, with driving surfaces of dirt.
The average global railway coverage is 23 kilometers per 1000 square kilometers, while Africa only has 2.5 kilometers per 1,000 square kilometers.[1]
